Overview
The Tŝilhqot’in have protected and cared for nen (air, waters, lands, resources) since the time of our ʔEsggidam (ancestors).
The Tŝilhqot’in Communities of Tl’etinqox (Anaham), Tŝideldel (Redstone), Yuneŝit’in (Stone), Xeni Gwet’in (Nemiah), ʔEsdilagh (Alexandria) and Tl’esqox (Toosey) will develop Community Nen Plans, created by and for our people, to provide a framework and process for honoring our values and protecting and caring for a healthy and self-sustaining nen. The Community Nen Plans will be brought together in a Nation Nen Plan that will set out a shared vision and connection to our homeland, driven by each Community and coordinated as a Nation, like six streams coming together to form a river.
The Tŝilhqot’in Nation Nen Plan will be a high-level, territory-wide plan for all of Tŝilhqot’in nen. The Nen Plan will be rooted in Tŝilhqot’in values, culture, and language and seek to be a sustainable, holistic, and integrative living plan for current and future generations.
Get Involved
The Tŝilhqot’in Nation Nen Plan will be developed through a community-led, multi-phased, inclusive process between November 2021 and December 2024. We want all Tŝilhqot’in to be part of making it and there will be many ways for our people to contribute to and shape our plan. It is anticipated that the Nation Nen Plan process will involve six phases:
